CANVAS Arts Festival

- VENDOR FAQ -
Welcome to the CANVAS portion of the 2026 Painter’s Palate. This document provides potential exhibitors with the latest guidance on our vision, participation process, and specific equipment requirements.

Note: This is an informational FAQ, not the formal application.

CANVAS is the Sunday highlight of the three-day Painter’s Palate festival. It is a free-to-the-public community Art Walk hosted on the revitalized grounds of Painter’s Lodge.

Under the new ownership of Evergreen Hospitality, the lodge has undergone extensive renovations to its facilities and property. Our primary goal is to reintroduce the Campbell River community and Vancouver Island visitors to this cultural landmark, establishing it as a premier destination for world-class hospitality and the arts.

As a vendor at CANVAS, you are a core part of our “Bottle to Brush” vision. You can expect:

Curated Audience: Direct engagement with 750+ expected guests, including attendees from our Friday and Saturday premium sessions.

Promotions: An Instagram announcement post promoting your presence at CANVAS.

We will also prepare a poster for you with a QR code linking to a page hosted on painterspalate.ca to promote your booth, including links to your website, social media, and donated raffle item.

Community: A free community shuttle service to help drive high foot traffic, dedicated vendor parking in the back gravel lot, and a high-energy festival atmosphere featuring live music, a variety of food trucks and snack vendors, and a supervised CANVAS KidZone.

We offer two distinct ways for creators and businesses to sell and interact directly with the public, as well as a unique retail opportunity in our onsite boutique.

Artisan Vendor: Independent creators selling original, handmade work such as painting, pottery, photography, textiles, and more. These spots are juried to ensure quality and variety.

Retail Art Supplier: A retail establishment doing a pop-up, or a producer of works such as screen printing, CNC woodwork of original designs, and similar products. Please inquire for details.

The General Store Consignment Opportunity: Beyond the one-day festival, we are selecting a variety of pieces and product lines to be sold on consignment within our onsite gift shop, The General Store. This allows select artists to maintain a presence at Painter’s Lodge throughout the full weekend.

Vendors are responsible for their own setup, including the following specific requirements:

Financial Setup: Vendors must provide their own point-of-sale system and cash float.

Display Materials: Vendors must supply and set up all materials necessary to display or hang their work.

Personal Tents: All personal 10' x 10' pop-up tents must have proper weights for safety.

Rental Options: Limited equipment rentals are available for an additional fee:

10' x 10' Tents: $175 per tent
Tables: $25 per table

Please prepare the following for your formal application:

Submission Deadline: All applications must be submitted by July 15, 2026.

Portfolio: Prepare 3–4 clear, high-resolution images of your work, with a maximum file size of 1MB per image.

Registration Fee: A $100 CAD registration fee is due upon approval to lock in your space.

Booth Fee: A $200 CAD booth fee is due upon approval. However, this fee is waived for all Artisan booths.

Logistics: Load-in begins at 8:00 AM. Setup must be complete by 10:45 AM for the 11:00 AM start. Vehicles must be moved to the back lot by 10:30 AM.

Community Raffle: Each vendor agrees to donate an original work or item to the festival’s community raffle/audience activation.

Formal legal releases, insurance requirements, and payment instructions will be sent once your application has been received and approved by the jury.
